Christmas Day Twenty and Six

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want everyone to know that every word God has spoken will come to pass; that it will be fulfilled just as He spoke it; than every word He has spoken has already came to pass, is coming to pass right now, and/or will come to pass later; to know that not one word will fail; that you might repent of your sins, and believe in the One whom He has sent – that is Jesus Christ the Son of God, God the Son.

“Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for My mouth it hath commanded, and His Spirit it hath gathered them.” Isaiah 34:16 (KJV)

Christmas Day Twenty and Seven

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to choose my words so as to build, and not to destroy; to speak wisely and constructively; to speak words of life and not death; that others may be drawn to God through His word and Spirit.

“Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.” Proverbs 29:20 (NKJV)

Christmas Day Twenty and Eight

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want the rulers of our Nation (U. S. of A.), and all nations to recognize the need, and practice the principles which God lays out in His word for leadership for the people, rich and poor, no matter their ethnic, or cultural background; and lead us wisely, and for the rulers (presidents, prime ministers, kings and queens) to realize they too are one of the people.

“Like a roaring lion and a charging bear is a wicked ruler over poor people. A ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor, but he who hates covetousness will prolong his days.” Proverbs 28:15-16 (NKJV)

Christmas Day 30

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be (today and everyday) a Christian in the words that I speak, the life that I live, and to be one who shares the love of God in Christ Jesus wherever I may be; to whom ever I am with, and no matter their economic, religious, political, moral, or ethnic place in this world; to share the word of God, and the love of God shown on Calvary’s cross.

“He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; when he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.” Proverbs 26:24-26 (KJV)

For the Seven Abominations see Proverbs 6:16-19.

Christmas Day Thirty and One

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want my trust in the LORD to grow everyday, and live so that others may see my faith in Him; to trust Him in the thick and the thin; the good and the bad; when I am physically weak and when I am physically strong; when I am rich and when I am poor to glorify His name.

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 (KJV)

Just a word of explanation concerning having no post yesterday (Thanksgiving Day):  I was in the office prepared to do one, but my internet was as slow as thick molasses, and would not even load a page; so the internet was shut off all day long.

It was still slow today, but fast enough to load pages.  I am blessed to be able to do this and pray others are blessed by the Word of God.  I pray you all had a glorious, wonderful, and Blessed Thanksgiving Day; and that the thanks to the Lord will continue through to next Thanksgiving.

Is There Anything Really NEW?

I posted this in 2009, and came across it again, and believed it needed again today. I pray you will read it, and God will draw you near to Himself.

Broken Pieces

In the world of 2009 there are many who desire “New Thought”, or I believe some are called “New Progressives” who desire new thought concerning life, life issues, religion, government, politics, news, family, law, or whatever. However, it appears to me that there is nothing that is new under the sun. I know of a man who told us that, and wrote about thousands of years ago. He is known as the wisest of men who ever walked on earth. His name was Solomon. His words were, “There is nothing new under the sun”.

As I read the prophet Jeremiah, and the other prophets I see nothing new in today’s world. People are still people; desiring their own way, turning from God’s way, and yet there are those who profess to be God’s people, even Christian, who will tell us we have to change to get people’s attention. How do…

Christmas Day Thirty and Three

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always, always value truth, and realize that the words of Holy Scripture are the truth in every part of my life; and that truth is never for sale.

John 17:17

“Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.” Proverbs 23:23 (KJV)

I heard somewhere that “If you always tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said.”  I have, for many years, remembered that.

Christmas Day Thirty and Six

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to cease to do evil, to learn to do good, seek justice, rebuke oppressors, defend the fatherless, and plead for widows; and ask that all of us as Christians stand by these words through our Lord Jesus Christ; and God forgive when we have failed to do so.

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:16-17 (NKJV)

Christmas Day Thirty and Seven

What do I want for Christmas today?

I always want to be a man of integrity, honesty; no matter my economic condition -rich or poor – and no matter my lot in life; always faithful to the God of Creation through His Son Jesus.

“Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” Proverbs 19:1 (KJV)

Christmas Day Thirty and Eight

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be the Christian man who will seek wise and sound advice, direction and counsel from those who know a thing better than I, then be wise enough to follow wise counsel; to heed and to do it.

“A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment.” Proverbs 18:1 (NKJV)

Christmas Day 40

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always know, trust, and believe that a man’s wealth is not determined by the things he possesses, but by the Person who has his heart; and I want all who read this to know, trust and believe that as well.

“Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” Luke 12:15 (KJV)

Christmas Day Forty Two

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want for myself and all who know the Lord Jesus Christ to always lift praises to God; and in those praises that God would grant the increase of the earth, and all the world fear Him.

“Let the people praise Thee, O God; let all the people praise Thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.” Psalm 67:5-7 (KJV)

Christmas Day Forty Three

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want for this Lord’s Day to be a day the people appear in their Sunday morning Bible Studies, Worship and evening Worship to only sing, pray, praise, preach and glorify Jesus Christ; to be prepared for the week ahead, to be the witnesses of Christ, filled with His Spirit, walking with Him; so that others might desire to know Him.

“For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 2:5-6 (KJV)

Christmas Day Forty Four

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to have a renewed sense of love for God, His Word, His people; for revival in my own life, family and Church; for revival in God’s people throughout the U. S. of A. and the world; because the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

“For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.” 1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV)

Christmas Day Forty Five

What do I want for Christmas today?

I did this one other day, but closer to last Christmas than this coming one; so I want to do it again.

I want to know what, those of you who come and read this quite often, want for Christmas today.

Where Do We Go From Here? (Four Things Christians Should NOT Do After This Election)

Nephos

The victory of Donald Trump has stirred the widest range of emotions, ranging from euphoria to abject hopelessness, and Christians are no exceptions. Everyone is talking about what they will do now that he is president – ranging from dancing in the streets to leaving the country. In the midst of all this, here’s some thoughts on things Christians should NOT do following this election.

– Don’t gloat

There are people in our nation who are fearful. Correctly or not they’ve been given the perception that they, their livelihood, and their families are endangered by a Trump presidency. Hearing Christians inordinately revel in the ascendancy of the man they believe to be the embodiment of that fear can only serve to heighten it.

These are people who have heard us say, “Character matters.” Hearing Christians inordinately revel in the ascendancy of a man they believe to be the antithesis of…

Christmas Day Forty Seven

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always be the type of man who will listen to and accept the wise instruction and teaching from those who know better than I on a subject; and to live in the instruction and wisdom given me.

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs 9:9 (KJV)

Christmas Day Forty Eight

What do I want for Christmas today?

I do want the candidate that I have chosen to vote for to be the next President of the United States of America; however, if that candidate is not chosen, then I want to continue being faithful to God through His Son Jesus Christ in His wisdom and grace – praying for the President of this nation, their salvation and the saving of this nation.

“Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.”  (Says wisdom) Proverbs 8:34 (KJV)

Christmas Day Forty Nine

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be faithful in carrying out my responsibility as a citizen of this world, and a citizen of my Nation [U. S. of A.] in going to the voting booth on Tuesday November 8, 2016, and casting my ballot, for the candidate and candidates who best represent the Biblical/Christian worldview; and to be faithful to my God and His Word no matter who is chosen by the people of said Nation; that God may show Himself awesome, and that His Word is stedfast and sure.

“Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” Psalm 33:8-9 (KJV)
