“Is not My word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” Jeremiah 23:29
I was just remembering when I started blogging. I started a Fire and Hammer at another blog hosting site on January 09 of 2006. There were several post there up until the blog just went into cyber world never to be seen again. Many of the post I had there had been saved on my computer, so I checked out WordPress and started here on May 10 of ’06. Since that time there have now been 2934 posts here at Fire and Hammer. That is as of June 07, 2019.
I want to thank everyone who has came to this site. Some of you have left comments, both encouraging and critical. Some have been posted and some have not. Those who tend to be argumentative I will delete and not post. When some one asks me a question I will answer it. However if you ask a question to start debating it will be cut off. I don’t go and comment on other blogs to begin arguing with what they believe, though I very well could and have been tempted to do so at times; however that is not why I blog.
This is a field of ministry. There are millions of people who are without Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. My prayer and hope is that even one comes to this blog, and reads the gospel, and is saved from sin, death and hell unto the glory of Christ, then God has used it to His own glory.
My thanks to WordPress for offering this opportunity for blogging, to anyone who desires to take or make the time and effort.

I try not to be harsh and yet I am aware of inadequate expression of God’s word in many churches today. Please understand my complete love for my Lord Jesus before I go any further. I have had 2-3 very rough seasons in my time since the Lord gave me life on 9/13/49. I have learned in these seasons to have a deeper walk with Jesus. Nevertheless, I find myself struggling with the lack of courage and committment, in the leadership, as well as the preaching in the Lord’s house across this country. I feel that there is an epidemic of fear that has taken control of the Bride of Christ. I am saddened as well as fed up. In 2nd Timothy 1:7, Paul writes,’ Our Lord did not give us a spirit of fear, but one of love, power, and a sound mind.’ I know that God’s people cannot grow without the truth and power given to those He chooses to lead and guide His flock. Thanks for listening, Gary

Gary,
I understand what you’re saying. Fear was something I struggled with early on in my call to preach. I was never one who enjoyed standing in front of people, still don’t. It due to fear. The prophet Jeremiah dealt with that too. If you read the first chapter you will see God’s words to the prophet, and that was what God used to help me face this fear, and He still does.
We are fearful of many things. What do we do with that fear? If it handicaps us, cripples us into doing nothing then fear wins and we lose. If we face that fear in the faith of Christ Jesus then we win through the strength He gives us. God has “not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind”; as you quoted Paul’s words to Timothy. Timothy must have been dealing with fear as well, or Paul’s words would be pointless.
My point is that the fears we face can strengthen us, or cripple us. We must choose which one that will be. By the power of the Holy Spirit let’s choose that we be strengthened by the Spirit of Christ, facing the fears, in His power.
I appreciate your comment, and I am greatly encouraged by it. I pray that my response has encouraged. Keep preaching the word.

Trude,
I hear your hearts cry. I too have bp problems, and am on medication to keep it controlled. There are times we need doctors, and sometimes God chooses to heal us of these things; and I pray He does do that for you. I am still praying He does for me too.
I am praying for you.
