But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given Me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of Me, that the Father hath sent Me. And the Father Himself, which hath sent Me, hath borne witness of Me. Ye have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His shape. And ye have not His word abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not. Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me. And ye will not come to Me, that ye might have life. I receive not honour from men.

Consider the Ant; Abiding in the Word
“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8

The LORD of all creation has given us the ant, and all of heaven and earth, to learn from them. Let us pray for wisdom to acknowledge and learn from them.
May we also pray that we will not be sluggards in being students, avid students and disciples of the word of God. It would be a sad thing to hear the Lord say to us one day “…You have not His word abiding in you”.
