Prayer for Monday January 25, In the year of our Lord 2021

A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.”  Proverbs 25:26
“Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets.”  Luke 6:26

Father and Creator of heaven and earth, and all that is therein we ask for Your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in Your word, will, and way You work in us, and in others. We desire to always walk with You and glorify Your name.

Forgive our weakness in standing before men of power and authority when we need to be bold in Your word, to speak all that You have spoken. May we never bow before evil and wicked men or women. Forgive us also when we have sought to be liked and approved by others before bringing honor to Your holy name; and have failed to lift up Jesus Christ.

We ask for boldness in Your word no matter before whom we may be standing, to speak it with Your power and authority. May we, like Paul the apostle, live with this in our heart, soul, and mind; “…To know nothing, except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” and buried and raised to life forever. For life eternal is found only through faith in His finished work on the cross of Calvary. Amen.

While We Were Yet Sinners

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.  But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” Romans 5:1-11  (KJB)

Christmas Day Twenty and Three

What do I want for Christmas today?

Since it is that season of the year we are to remember God sending His Son Jesus into a world that hated and despised Him; I want to remind us of our condemnation into which each of us are born; and remind us all that God is holy, just, righteous, and worthy of all praise, honor and glory; yet He loves us.

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Romans 5:6-10 (KJV)

Wisdom Speaks – Christmas Day One Hundred Sixty and Eight

“A righteous man who falters before the wicked
Is like a murky spring and a polluted well.” Proverbs 25:26 (NKJV)

Understanding that the “Righteous man” is one who is declared “Righteous” by God Himself because of the cross of Jesus Christ, and not a decree of the man himself, or of any other human decree…

What do I want for Christmas?

I want to be that righteous man who never falters, who never falls before the wicked or wicked causes; and I pray that all who are righteous through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ may stand against the wicked and wickedness, and always stand for God and His righteousness.

Christmas Day Two Hundred Twenty and Nine #2

What do I want for Christmas?

I want to learn to count properly; because I just noticed that on Sunday May 08, 2016 I numbered that day as “Two Hundred Thirty and One” and it should have been “Two Hundred Thirty and Two”.

I am counting backwards from the day following Christmas Day of 2015.  I thought I was doing better than that.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16 (KJV)

If this messed up anyone’s day please forgive me.  I am smiling as I write.

I could go back and correct each error, but I will let it remain with this notice in place.

There is a Cost for Following Jesus; and Reward

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth Me, and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.” ~Jesus (Matthew 10:34-42)
