Christmas Day Ninety and Six

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to live as though my whole body and being is the temple of the Lord; that He dwells in me; and that I am to keep it holy, for His honor, glory and power.

“Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.” Haggai 1:5-7 (KJV)

“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Christmas Day Ninety and Seven

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always be mindful of the negatives and the positives in God’s Word; and I want Christians all over the world to realize that without the negatives the positives do not have any use; keeping in mind “The Day of the LORD”

“Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD; for the day of the LORD is at hand, for the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has invited His guests.” Zephaniah 1:7 (NKJV)

Christmas Day Ninety and Eight

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always be aware, watching and knowing that the answers God gives to life’s perplexing questions are of greater value than any that men, women or their philosophies can give.

“I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.” Habakkuk 2:1 (NKJV)

How This Conservative Evangelical Died…

Here is some food for thought.

This is the first of two posts that I have to preemptively tell you that my heart in this is motivated only in love and service to helping Christians (including me) more closely align in following the way of Jesus. I simply ask that if you are a Christian and one who struggles with anger when a person challenges your faith perspective, then maybe park this post until you can read it in a non-defensive, non-oppositional, and peaceful posture. These words are meant to begin a civil conversation and dialogue and then to guide us into deeper reflection and dependence on the Spirit of God in our lives.

Too many times, Christians read what I write (with the most recent example being about Christians and politics) and quickly retort, “Well, I disagree with your position,” or, “Well, that is just your opinion.” Others immediately dismiss what I have written and…

Christmas Day 100

With this countdown thing it may have drawn it out longer.  I can hardly believe that we are only one hundred days from December 25, 2016.  I pray and want all to be blessed today, and everyday.

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want you to read the first paragraph above.

Christmas Day One Hundred One

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want peace to reign always in my heart; and in my home, family, friends, and in the world; I want the world to know the peace that comes only through faith in Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection, and that He is coming again and all will be made right.

But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths.’ For the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.  For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.” Micah 4:1-5 (KJV)

Christmas Day One Hundred Two

What do I want for Christmas today?

When it is possible, I want to be more compassionate to people no matter what their life’s plight, no matter their economic level, health, race, or religion; I want to be compassionate to all people; I want to be compassionate enough to share the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ with them.

Remembering Jonah.

Christmas Day One Hundred Three

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want parents to know and to realize that their children are not perfect; that any of them can be a trouble maker, or a bully, and will lie, cheat and deceive; and that though they are loved they can be trouble, cause trouble or be in trouble; I want them to know that though these things are true they are still loved, yet need correction many times; sometimes even after they are grown; that the only answer for raising kids is to give them to the Lord; and you be an example to them.

Christmas Day One Hundred Four

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want the hungry to be fed; the homeless to have shelter; those who weep to be filled with joy, and I want the wealthy to notice and to take personal care of the poor, and poverty stricken; and no longer taking advantage of the weak and powerless.

Christmas Day One Hundred Five

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be blessed by God in telling someone about Jesus Christ, and His cross, death, burial and resurrection; and to see that person call on the name of the Lord for salvation, receiving eternal life.

Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel; because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”For behold, He who forms mountains, and creates the wind, who declares to man what his thought is, and makes the morning darkness, who treads the high places of the earth— The LORD God of hosts is His name.” Amos 4:12-13 (NKJV)

“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 Jesus (KJV)

Christmas Day One Hundred Six

What do I want for Christmas today?

It is the Lord’s Day once again, so I want to go to worship our God and Savior Jesus Christ with brothers and sisters in Christ, and glorify His name together, then go into the community, and the world, equipped, and ready to live in a way that shows Him to the world; and do that seven days a week.

Christmas Day One Hundred Seven

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be a good and godly steward of all that God has blessed me with; including my fellowship with God, my wife, home, family, friends, and caring for finances, house and land; and in that order of importance.

Christmas Day One Hundred Eight

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be a blessing to those around me; to be an encourager, to be a friend to all I meet, and to instill in them the desire for living right, to always point them to the Creator; our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for Mine anger is turned away from him. I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.” Hosea 14:4-7 (KJV)

Christmas Day – 110

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want  to live in a land, a nation, a country where everybody loves everybody, a place where people are helping each other when they are in need; I want to live in a place where everybody loves GOD, His Savior, His law, His Word, and everyone walks with Him; and when we do the latter the other happens.

Christmas Day One Hundred Ten and One

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want the children returning to school today following Labor Day weekend to arrive at their Schools safely; I want those who are driving their automobiles to work, home from work to be alert and aware of School Buses with the stop arm’s out, the overhead flashing red lights mean “STOP” there are children exiting buses; I do not want to see another child hit by an un-attentive, distracted motorist;  pay attention or you could kill, maim or injure a child.

Christmas Day One Hundred Ten and Two

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want you all to have a great Labor Day holiday, with family, friends, and to make it a safe, clean, and godly day too; if your traveling away from home too far to make the trip safely, and arrive back at home safe, and without trouble.

Christmas Day One Hundred Ten and Three

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want this Lord’s Day to be one where the Lord Jesus Christ is lifted up in my heart, mind, and spirit, and in the Spirit of the Lord; that He might be glorified in me forever.

CHRISTIAN HUNTING

CHRISTIAN HUNTING
1. And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any “of this way (of The Way)”, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
[Acts 9:1,2]

Before the Apostle Paul was saved (Saul) his favorite sport was Christian Hunting.

If a man goes bear hunting, it’s not hard for him to recognize a bear when he sees one, but how did Saul recognize a Christian when he saw one? It was most certainly by the Way they were living (disciples of the Lord).
They were not shy to openly live for Jesus in a hostile world.

1. Their Separation

I’m sure when Saul went looking for Christians that there were several places that he never wasted…

Christmas Day One Hundred and Fourteen

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always know the heart and mind of God for my life, and to walk in it, that His name would be glorified.

I thank you Father for the cross of Jesus which makes this possible through Your Holy Spirit and Your Word.

Prophets Speak – Christmas Day One Hundred and Fifteen

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to be faithful and diligent in prayer, praise and thanksgiving to my God and Savior Jesus Christ; to live for Him that His name be glorified in me; and that I never do these things as defiance against human laws, but always in faithfulness to God.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” Daniel 6:10 (NKJV)

Prophets Speak – Christmas Day One Hundred and Sixteen

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want any pride or arrogance in me to yield allegiance, faith and life to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and that I might never forget that the Almighty GOD is the One who holds my life’s breath in His hand.

“…But you his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, although you knew all this. And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified…” Daniel 5:22-23 (NKJV)

Christmas Day One Hundred and Seventeen

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to so live my life; even unto death if need be; that others will know and see the living Lord Jesus Christ  in me and desire to know Him too.

Read Daniel 3 of Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Shadrach, Meshech, and Abednego).

Christmas Day One Hundred and Eighteen

What do I want for Christmas today?

I want to always be in the heart and mind of  prayer to the GOD Most High, for my family – my children, grandchildren; and as my wife and I prayed for our children’s spouses from the time they were babies crawling on the floor, or before; so too pray for our grand children to have born again, and godly Christian spouses who love God, and His Word.
