Five Years Ago

Five years ago when my wife and I were living in Farmington, Missouri and I was pastor of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church I started Fire and Hammer blog.  It was in January of that year and on Blogger.

I was writing almost everyday and rewriting online things I had written years before.  Studies in Revelation and such.  I also began writing about former pastors and such; then one day I lost everything on the blog; including the blog.  The host was doing some work improving their servers and programs and things like that; and I hit the wrong button; or something.  To this day I have never figured out what happened.  It was gone.

I came over to WordPress and started again.  I have been here ever since.  I am now well into my sixth year blogging here.  Thank you WordPress for allowing myself and others to have a place to leave the message of God’s Word on the web.

I know it is not a real whiz bang blog.  My intentions is not to impress any one or everyone.  My intentions are to get the Word of God out.  I thank God for the privilege of doing so.  I know I am not the only one doing it; and thank God for all who are being faithful in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and the whole counsel of God.

To all who are subscribed to this blog, and to all who read the articles.  THANKS and I pray you have been blessed.  God bless you all.

Have a Blessed/Happy New Year…

…and the only true way of doing that is to be blessed with the new birth found only through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.  He loved you and me so much He died for our sins that we might have fellowship with God, and through Him.

I do want all who come here to have a great New Year in 2011.  It almost seems hard to believe that a decade has passed since the beginning of a new century.  To those of you who are “in Christ” we live in exciting times.  The second coming of Jesus is drawing near, and the rapture of the Church is even nearer.  Be ready, be right with God, and walk with Him.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Blessed Thanksgiving 2009

It is a wonderful and blessed thing to be alive, breathing, and walking upon this beautiful planet the Lord of all has blessed us with.  The stars which shine at night with the moon, and all the planets; those seen and those which cannot be seen with the human eye.

We can be thankful no matter what our lot in live.  Captive or free we are all captive in one way or another.  Let us all remember that we are made by the one true God; our Creator, Spirit, the Son of God and Savior of all who will call on that wonderful, glorious name of Jesus the Christ.

Thank God for family, friends, work, health, wealth because we here in the USA are wealthy compared to many places and people on earth.  Even if you have no home you still live in the land of the free, and home of the brave.

What a place to live, breathe, move and have our being.

Thank YOU Lord for YOUR blessings.

Thanksgiving Day Psalm

I thought this Psalm could address our thankfulness on this Thanksgiving Day.  We have much for which to be thankful to God.

“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.’

‘Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.’

‘Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.’

‘They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.’

‘He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.” Psalm 107:1-43 (KJV)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY.

Will Be Back

I pray all who come to “Fire and Hammer” will be remembering whose birth it is we remember this time of year, and especially in the month of December.  I also pray all will have a Blessed-Happy New year of 2008.

It seems that even in things we enjoy doing we sometimes need to take a break.  Blogging is one of those things which I have found which gives me a sense of fulfillment, and accomplishment.  I don’t know if anyone else feels that way about it or not, but I do.  I am taking the month of December away from this activity though, and the Lord willing I will return to it January 01, 2008

I will maintain my moderation of the comments, if there are any, and if you want to discuss something with me you may email me at isaiah4031(at)mo-net(dot)com, and I will be happy to “talk” with you.

God Bless you.

Thanksgiving Day

Today is the day our nation chooses to be thankful.  It is not always expressed as to whom we are thankful.  You can be thankful to your dog or cat if you want I guess, however, there is One who is worthy of all Thanks, and Thanksgiving; and His name is Jesus, our God, Savior, Creator.

So here is my desire for us all have a blessed THANKSGIVING DAY, in the Lord.

Have a Wonderful Father’s Day

It is that one day a year when there is a special recognition of Fathers.  We are appreciated by our families.  At least, most of us are.  There are probably some fathers who come here to Fire and Hammer who may not feel too appreciated, but know that you are loved and cared for.

Our Heavenly Father cares for and loves you.  He may be the One who can make a wonderful difference between you and your family.  He loves you the way you are.  He can and will save you the way you are, and know this,  He loves you too much to leave any of us the way we are.

God bless you men, and have a great day in the Lord.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

I want everyone who visits Fire and Hammer to know how much I appreciate your visits, and thank you for the comments you leave.

However, today I want to especially show appreciation to all those mothers who visit here.  You are a blessing to your family.  You are especially a blessing to your children.  Love them and cherish them, give them to the Lord, and you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

God bless you all this Mother’s Day.

Have a God-Filled Christmas

First of all, I want to express a word of THANKS to all who have come to Fire and Hammer and read the articles.  It seems, that, even though we have never met we have become friends with some of you.

Secondly, I want to say to everyone who may come here in the next month or so that there is plenty here to read.  I pray God will bless you in your endeavor.  Also being the Christmas season I pray you will have a very GOD FILLED CHRISTMAS, and do remember the Christ whose birth we are celebrating.  Remember Him on His birthday, and on every day of the New Year coming.

The third thing, I wanted to let all the ones who come hear know also, that I will not be blogging from December 16 through January 15, 2007.  There are some articles on the REASONS I BELIEVE IN THE PRETRIBULATION RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH which I will catch up on at that time.

God bless you all.  If we never meet here; I do pray we will meet when we see Jesus.  In Christ Jesus I will see you HERE, THERE, OR IN THE AIR.

MOTHER’S DAY

It is that wonderful day of the year where we are to give honor and show appreciation to our Mothers.
I know that I am very thankful for my mother. My Mom used to say things like, “Love is an itch in your heart you can’t get to to scratch”. I remember over hearing her and one of her sisters talking (before I was born again) about the second coming of Jesus. That really peaked my interest, and as some who read this blog, can tell; it still does. Mom has always been an encouragement to me, and I will always love and appreciate her.
I am also very thankful to the Lord for the mother of my children, my wife. All of our 5 children are great kids. They are great kids, because they have a great mother who has always loved each one dearly, and has given much of her time to teach them and be an encouragement to them. Best of all, to me she is a great wife.
To all the mothers who may come by this BLOG today, HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED MOTHER’S DAY.
