The Almighty, the Majestic One
There is a section of chapter 3 which we are about to finish, and that is verses 3-7, and this section describes the Majesty and Power of the Almighty God. In verse three we see His glory. In verse four His brightness, horns coming out of His hand with His power hidden. In verse five pestilence went before Him and fever followed at His feet. In verse six He stood and measured the earth, and His ways are everlasting. My, O, My what a wonderful, powerful, majestic God we know and serve.
“I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian trembled.” Habakkuk 3:7 (NKJV).
We know that as God worked in Egypt to bring the children of Israel out of that land of slavery and oppression, He struck fear into the hearts of the Egyptian people and their king. They were trembling by the time the Pharoah told them they could leave. They were paying them to leave, giving them gold, silver, precious jems, and rich clothing.
The message the prophet Habakkuk is getting to all his people is God has never failed to bring His people to His place. It may not be like we sometimes think, but He will get us through.
The reason I say this in the personal is that is true of the Christian today. It was/is true for the people of Israel. One day this Nation called Israel will see their Messiah, and they will call on His name. The name of the One whom they have pierced, and they will call Him their King and Lord.
The people of Cushan and Midian were nomadic people, meaning that they never stayed in one place very long. We know that because of the “tents” and the “curtains”. We see in other passages of Scripture that God made all the nations tremble before this Nation He had freed from Egypt. That is why Balak called for Balaam to curse this people but could not. He did eventually lead them to a place of bringing God’s curse on them themselves, by joining with the Moabites in sin and wicked practices (See Numbers 25 and 31:1-11).
God never allows His people to sin successfully; and He never allows those who hurt them to escape His judgment. They will tremble before Him.

ATW,
I believe the Bible. You are the one who does not. You claim it is corrupted. I believe God is big enough to preserve it for the world today, and it has been done in what we have as the Bible.
Jesus Himself said, “I and My Father are one” John 10:30. He also said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
You evidently believe Jesus to have been a prophet, a good man or both. If, however, these things He said are not true, then He was a charlatan, a liar, deceiver, and neither, a prophet of God or a good man.
How do you suppose that you are right with God without a right sacrifice? All men are sinners and cannot approach God. He cannot look upon us in our sin.
Jesus was God’s sacrifice for our sin. He is our justification. He is our righteousness. All our works are as filthy rags.
Do you think that when we get to God that He will have a set of scales, will put our bad deeds on one side, and our “good ones” on the other, will weigh them, then determine whether our “good ones” outweigh the evil?
It is only by the death, burial and resurrection that anyone will ever see the face of God.
If you reject Jesus you will be cast eternally into the lake of fire which burns forever.
Since it seems that I am speaking with only a blog and not a person, and since you will not believe the Bible to be the final word of God, then we have nothing further to discuss.
I will continue to pray for whomever this person is, only God knows.

Amazing. Do you believe part of the Bible where it suits your needs and beliefs and reject others?
I ask again: if God commands us to do certain things, then He would be direct in His demand. So why did Jesus NOT say “I am God, Worship Me.”
Because he did not. He did say At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” John 6:41. What did bread stand for? “Food for thought?” Reflect.
The Bible as we read today is the translated version of many versions, correct? The word Lord and God are not necessarily the same since, as we know, the English language defines Lord as a person with authority. This is why in the old days the man of the house was called lord of the house.
And when the Bible was translated to English, how do we know that Jesus asked people to worship him? He did NOT. The fact that Luke, Matthew or Paul “did not correct” as you claim, does not make this right. And if Jesus was God (Glroy be to God from such association) then why did he not demand that the Bible be written before his “death?”
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46
Even if Jesus, according to you is God but there’s a “bigger” God in Heaven, then who is MORE worthy of worship?
And why did the Old Testament insist on God being One (not three, no trinity and no suggestion that God will “descend” to earh Himself?”
Because God is unlike anything you can think of or imagine. He is the One, the Only and the One who created every thing in the Heavens and Earth and the settled on His throne. He alone is worthy of Worship.
Tim, it’s time you turn to God in Heaven, the Creator before it’s too late. If you walk towards Him, He will “hurry” towards you (in Mercy and Forgiveness).

Our identities are known by our Creator/Jesus. As to your question where Jesus was worshiped Look at John 20:28. Also there the Revelation of Jesus Christ 1:17
Saul the Pharisee on his journey to capture, persecute, and kill Christians met Jesus and fell before Him worshipping in Acts 9:3-9.
Yes, these are all post resurrection experiences, which by the way the resurrection proves that He was everything He claimed to be.
In Matthew 2:11 the Magi upon seeing Jesus worshipped Him they are never rebuked, nor are we told they were wrong in doing so. Again, as an adult a leper comes and worships Him in Matthew 8:1-4, and Jesus does not correct Him, or say not to worship Him; in Matthew 9:18 a ruler came and worshipped Him, and again no correction; in John 9:38 a man worships Jesus, and He receives it and with no correction toward the man.
I believe I have given you more than one example from the Bible of people worshipping Jesus, His receiving it without correction.
I do see in you that you have a high view of God, but James in his epistle wrote, “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble!” James 2:19
Believing in God is not enough. Trusting in the gift of His Son Jesus that is enough. Jesus said, “This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent.” John 6:29, and Jesus also said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” John 14:9
God the Father loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die in your place on the cross, judge Him as our sin, and gives us His righteousness, as we put our faith in this wonderful, glorious Son. He raised Him up from the grave three days later, and He lives forever making intercession for us; seated at the right hand of God the Father.
Trust Jesus before it is too late.

Likewise Tim. I am proud and content in my belief. I KNOW that Jesus will be ashamed of those who worshiped him. Show me one place in the Bible where he either asked people to worship him or that he approved of such.

ATW,
I am not ashamed of what I believe. My name is posted here, and yes I look forward to the day I stand face to face with my Savior, Lord and God; look upon the nail prints in His hands, the scar in His side, and here Him say to me, “Welcome my child”.
I will not be the only or first to bow at His feet. Others worshipped Him while He walked on earth, and He did not correct them nor refuse it.
When He spoke forgiving the sins of others He was accused of blasphemy, because only God can forgive sin, and He forgave sin, and still does.
He died with the sins of the world on Him, taking the wrath of His Father, paying the debt that was ours to pay, paid it in full, was buried carrying them as far away as east is from west, and cast them into the deepest part of the sea; and never to be held against those who call on the name of Jesus.
You will one day bow befoe Jesus as your eternal Judge, you will call Him Lord; but unless you repent of sin and trust Him today or at least before you die; then will be eternally too late.
I have no fear of my eternity, I have peace with God through Jesus Christ.
The Trinity is clearly seen in Scripture. The triune Godhead is seen in Genesis 1:1-3, the Son is seen walking in the garden in Genesis 3:8 This would have been a bodily manisfestation of the Preincarnate Christ. There are others in Genesis and throughout the Old Testament. In Genesis 18 the LORD appeared as one of three strangers.
There is a preincarnate manisfestion in the prophecy of Daniel 3:19-30.
In the New Testament there is plenty of evidence for the Trinity of God. Jesus is baptised, the Father spoke from Heaven, and the Holy Spirit of God lighted on Jesus (Matthew 3:16-17; Luke 3:21-22)
As for the charges of the Bible being full of contradictions that is only the charge of many who do not want the truth, there is no light in them, and they cannot clearly see the grace and mercy God offers to all who will believe in His Son Jesus. I have been reading and studying the Bible for at least 34 years, and I have never found a contradiction. There is no other book which I could say that of.
God has preserved His Word. His Word is the Bible, and it is forever settled in heaven.
Jesus Christ will be your Judge, and you will bow before Him, now or then.
Peace in Christ Jesus.

Tim,
I believe in the God of Abraham, Noah, Moses and Jesus. The one who is unique in every respect, without beginning and without end, nothing could be compared with Him- thus precluding any possibility of describing or defining Him.
Consequently, the quality of His Being is beyond the range of human comprehension or imagination: which also explains why any attempt at “depicting” God by means of figurative representations or even abstract symbols must be qualified as a blasphemous denial of the truth.
God on a cross qualifies as blasphemy. Glory be to Him.
I am still baffled by your insistence that the Bible is the “only” word of God. If it was, why does it contain so many contradiction? Why are you afraid to address Trinity? In my opinion, the answer is in the fact that all of us know that Trinity is a fabrication and addition to the “only word of God.”
And since additions and changes were allowed to occur, the Bible is no longer the word of God. Some of it is still preserved, but most of it changed by those who claimed were inspired to write on His behalf! When that happens, and the Bible is translated from one language to another, and finally to English, I don’t know waht I would call it but I know for a fact that it’s no longer the word of God.
Likewise, brother, I do hope you find the true Light of God Himself. Jesus was created by God. He worshiped God and on the day of Judgment, Jesus will disassociate himself from those who dared worship him. And we shall see.
Peace.

ATW,
It is quite clear to me that you are knowledgeable in the philosophies and teachings of men. The only true God is in the person of His Son Jesus Christ who lived, died on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried carrying our sins away, and rose bodily from the grave three days later.
Anyone who does not receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior is still in their sins, condemned to an eternity of darkness and fiery judgment.
The Bible is the only Word of God that is available for man today.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
“For ever, O LORD, Your Word is settled in heaven” Psalm 119:89

I am totally shocked by your opening in the last reply and what seems as basic ignorance. A man of God investigates and does not take what he has heard as truth! The people who studied Mohamed rated him as the Most Influential Man in History. Do I need to provide the sources for this? I’m sure you have already seen this.
Secondly, as I stated, the word Allah is UNLIKE any other word and no, it was not a pagan god or moon. And for your information, I studied the history – all of it. The Gods of the pagans of Mecca were called Laat, Uzza, Ya’ook, Nasra and so on. The word Allah is the word for The God – poorly translated.
And to think Mohamed deceived many is no less ignorant than your claim to be a man of God spreading rumors because you maybe a zealot Christian. Like a zealot Muslim, your “attack” is offensive on Muslims as a zealot’s Muslim’s attack on a Christian. Bin Laden is one.
I do believe in God the Creator and Supreme, the Perfect. What you think is God does NOT befit Holiness as in God the creator. He is worshiped and does NOT worship.
Then again, the Bible was written and re-written so many times as evident by the contradictions we have. First there’s NO mention of Trinity – not even an implied trinity. Secondly, as the following shows, something is terribly wrong:
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Then
Exodus 32:14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
So how do we explain this?

ATW,
According to many who have studied Mohammed, and Islam Allah was originally a pagan moon god, which Mohammed glorified and has decieved many.
Jesus is eternally God the Creator. In the gospel written by John the apostle it is written, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” then in verse fourteen it is written, “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us…” God has prayed with Himself, and covenanted with Himself, because there is no greater than Himself.
Further bearing out that Jesus is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, the apostle Paul wrote, “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or poweers. All things were created through Him, and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all thins consist.” Colossians 1:16-17.
Thanks for coming to Fire and Hammer again and leaving comment. I pray that you will turn away from your notions of Allah, and believe in the One true God who paid our sin debt with the life of His Son Jesus.

Thanks for the reply Tim.
I am not sure why most Western Christians refuse the word Allah. In Arabic, as in Aramaic or Hebrew, powerful languages with superior grammar, the word is unlike any other. The Arab Jews and Arab Christians use the word Allah as a Spanish person will use Dios. In Arabic the word God (Allah) has more of a sacred and powerful meaning than the word God.
Regardless, if He is better known in person as Jesus the Christ then how can God pray to Himself? It is not befitting that God prays. He is worshiped and shall alone be worshiped. Now people seem to be worshiping Jesus instead of the Creator and even Mary who was but a creation.

First of all, NO! the Answering Islam site is not mine. I don’t know the one’s who do it.
Secondly, the answer to your question on “God will not allow His people or His children to sin successfully” is so true.
The Old Testament is full of God’s judgment on Israel for theiir forsakeing Him and following idols, etc. That is also true for Christians. No Christian can continue to live in sin without God’s chastening hand coming on them, to get them back into His way and walk with Him.
It could be said of the created order of man too. One day, in God’s own timing, sin – all sin will be done away. That is when Jesus Christ will rule supremely from His throne in Jerusalem as King of kings and Lord of lords.
These writings may be written by amatuers, but I assure you they are not without much devotion, prayer, and study of the Word of God.
There is only one God, and His name is not allah; It is Jehovah/YaHWeH. And He is better know in person as Jesus the Christ. He alone died on the cross for our sins, carried them away in His burial, then rose again victoriously over death, hell and the grave three days later. Our only hope is in Him.
Thanks for your comment.

Interesting post and I think this is my first time here. Know that what people write, I research. One loses his or her credibility when they imply something that was said differently and/or out of context.
Having read what you wrote, I decided to first explore before replying. Naturally, the “Answering Islam” link caught my eye.
First: about what you wrote above. I will pick one point for now as I have many points to present here. You wrote God never allows His people to sin successfully.
Isn’t this a reference to His creation? All of Mankind at least? If so, then why is there so much sin in the world? Forget the world, let’s look at the U.S. Prostitution is rampant, so is pornography. The burden of proof is on the victim in many cases – like the raped victim and if one dares defend her/himself in their own house, there’s a list of legal ramifications to contend with. Likewise, Homosexuality and its “legal” presence and so on. It seems that God has allowed His people to sin.. and successfully.
Second: On Answering Islam – is this your blog/ site also? The first thing that struck me was the statement comparing the Quranic verse and John 8:32. Funny, but when I looked up the Quranic verse, I got the following:
2:256 THERE SHALL BE no coercion in matters of faith. Distinct has now become the right way from [the way of] error: hence, he who rejects the powers of evil and believes in God has indeed taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way: for God is all-hearing, all-knowing.
Yet the arguments presented on that site are so shallow that Muslims must be laughing at the logic presented, for they can turn around and say the same thing about the Bible. For example, the reference to the Unlettered Prophet or that of Deuteronomy Deductions can be argued the exact same way from the other side. Therefore no proof or facts were given.
I attended a lecture once about such points – at a local church in which the biblical reference to the above was better discussed and presented.
John 16:13-14: But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.
This quickly discredits the site Answering Islam about their conclusion that the references were made about Jesus! As is evident from Jesus statement above.
Therefore it is my humble opinion that the discussions are shallow and written by zealots and amateurs.
But back to the topic – the Israelites were so sinful even after they were delivered, and saw God’s miracles, they still insisted on taking a Golden Calf for a God to worship and the list goes on, killing Prophets, denying Jesus and causing his so-called “death” and so on. These people who say that Jesus is in Hell boiling in human excrement are still living in sin – not just because of what they’re doing but because of what they also utter about Jesus! When they use their religion as a means for justifying the killings of the innocents, then they are no different than Bin Laden’s usage of his faith to kill Westerners (non-Muslims).
