Jesus – Son of God, As God

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”  1 Timothy 3:16.

Why is it that when the Bible; and that includes Old Testament Scriptures; is so clear on the deity of Jesus Christ, that there are those who will argue with God Himself?  This verse is quite clear on the fact that Jesus is God incarnate.

Many of those who want to dismiss these verses, or twist them to suit their own ends, will admit that Jesus is the “Son of God”.  That just does not make sense.  Reason will tell you that if you are the ’son of a man’, that, that makes you a man: that is if you are a man.  Jesus is also referred to as “Son of Man”, thus making Him man.  Being called “Son of God”, being virgin born, conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary, God His Father, in the mind of reason will see that the Son of God is God.  Jesus is one hundred percent Man, and one hundred percent God.  You cannot get any better than that.

For further study on this read John chapter five, and six.  May God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit bless you in your study.

  1. If you can’t show me a verse that say that the holy Spirit is God, then I suggest that you do not assume it. Because the moment you say something and not back up by a verse in the bible, that will end up as an assumption, and if it is an assumption it may have a tendency to be not a fact. So next time , be very careful in everything you will write.

And another thing, you wrote that Jesus Christ is a true man, can you prove it? give me a verse that say that “Jesus is a TRUE MAN “.

You call yourself “peacecrusader”, could you not at least stick to what are written? Do not add to what are written? In that way, I will not have to call you a “CONFUSEDCRUSADER “.

    Verse of the day:–Proverbs 27:5

    • Excuse me! Can you prove beyond a doubt that the Holy Spirit is not God? NO! Then I wouldn’t be making the assumption that you are. There are many things in Scripture that are taught without directly naming it. I don’t think I have ever referred to myself as “peace crusader” You have me confused with someone else.
As to your confused question of Jesus being man. He was born of Mary [human] making him man. The Gospel of Luke clearly shows Him as man, but much more.
You are the one making accusations; you prove what you say.
I will not argue this any longer. I know where I stand. I was answering your question. I have answered it. That is where I stand.

    • I can show you no place that says “the Holy Spirit is a god”. I cannot show you any verse which proves the existence of God; period. The Bible always assumes the existence of God, never tries to prove His existence. You got it wrong though. “a god” never the God of creation yes.
The Holy Spirit [Spirit of God] was present at the creation and creating with the Father and Son (Genesis 1:2) “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” There is only one God manifested in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and Jesus is the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9).
If I am indeed assuming the Spirit is a Person of the Godhead, then it is because the Scriptures are full of His presence, power, and actions. You can deny it all you want. My convictions of this matter are settled. No need for debate.

  2. Why did you write that the Holy Spirit is God? Where in the bible that say that the Holy Spirit is God?

Have you not read what Paul had wrote?…”that ye might learn in us not to think of men ABOVE THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN, that NO ONE of you be puffed up for one against another”.

Stick to what was written. DO NOT add nor diminish to HIS words.

    • The Holy Spirit is God. He is referred to Jesus personally in John 16, as “He”. He was present at the baptism of Jesus, in the form of a dove (Luke 3:22), and we are to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20). Since He is a person, of the Godhead, and He draws people to Christ then He is also part of the Godhead with the Father and the Son.

        Dear Tim,

Jesus Christ is the Son of God because His father is God. Jesus Christ is the Son of man because His mother Mary was a human being. Simple.

If we want to go to Heaven, we have to accept and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is true God and true man.
