The Devil Against Himself???

Accusation – The Devil Against Himself

“And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.” Matthew 12:25-27 (KJV)

What the Pharisees would have us believe is that the works of Jesus was the works of the devil. The works the Lord performed were works against the devil and all evil. Satan working against himself would be self-destructive. That is what is called civil war. Warring against oneself.

The devil can do things in counterfeit, but he never copies for good. A counterfeit is for the purpose of deceit, leading away from the true and the good. The devil himself is called as, “an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Someone once asked me, “Can Satan heal?” My answer, “He can give the appearance of healing.” The woman who asked me this did not like my answer, and her and her husband never returned to our church. They had been going to so called “medical spiritist” and things like this. Those are tools of the devil, and it is connected to voodoo, and witchcraft. “Can Satan heal?” My answer to that question is still the same. He gives the appearance of healing, a counterfeit. The devil counterfeits to try and destroy the work of Christ with deceptive workers and their lies as well.

Satan will not do anything to destroy himself, or his legions of demons. Most of the counterfeit work he does is to call attention to himself. Like Jesus says, “If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself…”, and a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. The counterfeit work of the devil is to deceive, and attempt to destroy the works of God, even the child of God. Satan hates God and anyone who believes/trust in Him, and lives for Him.

The accusation the Pharisees bring is basically self defeating. If Jesus is casting out demons by Satan’s power, then, by whom are the Jewish exorcists casting them out? There is an example of Jewish exorcists casting out, or attempting to cast out demons, in Acts 19:13-17. “Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.” Acts 19:13-17 (KJV). We never see Jesus, His disciples, or apostles, using means of “exorcism” of demons. Everytime Jesus cast out demons He simply commanded them to leave. His disciples, and apostles much the same. There is no ritual or form for casting our demons. It is by the power of Christ Jesus and His Word they must leave. The gospel of Jesus Christ – the death of Jesus on the cross, His burial, and the resurrection is the power to rid a soul of demons. Where Jesus is in residence, the devil or his demons cannot remain.

Because these religious leaders were accusing Jesus of Satanic power they themselves would be judged by their own exorcists for their accusations. The house of the devil will one day be destroyed, and it will be by the hand of the One who does not deceive, counterfeit, or lie; but is just, honest and true.

  1. I am posting info about this subject on my blog as well. Johanna Michaelson reveals in her book “The Beautiful Side of Evil” that satan can and will heal physically if it gets him what he wants, control over people. She helped a psychic surgeon perform impossible medical surgeries that brought healing to some, and temporary healing to others, all while under the influence of a spirit guide named “Jesus”. I agree with you that it is still a “counterfeit” miracle or lying wonder, and I think these counterfeits are what we are seeing at Lakeland. I’ve heard reports that some healings disappear after the person goes home from Lakeland, a report of children having nightmares after Lakeland, and a report of an increase in violence and oppression after being at Lakeland. So important to be in the Word of God, as deception is increasing. God bless you.

There is one thing I question concerning supposed healings, and that is who is getting the attention of the healings?
The man/woman performing them may say, “Glory to the Lord” etc., etc.; but in actuality the man on the stage, in front is drawing a crowd to himself.
If i am correct in what i know of this it is connected with the church where they supposedly had a revival with people screaming in animal noises of various sorts, a few years back, and now they have Todd Bentley kicking old people in the head for healing.
People who behaved this way in Jesus’s day were delivered from demons. It was not said that they were of God. We need to be on guard against deception, follow the Scriptures, don’t get wrapped up in seeking the miraculous or you can be deceived.
    Thanks for your question.

  3. Do you think the healings in Lakeland Florida are from God or are we being decieved? I’m struggling with whether this is from God.They say they have medical proof of healings. Some things I believe are done in the flesh. The teaching is very encouraging but I just don’t want to fall into deception.
    Thank you,In Christ,

  4. Tanyazhadan,
By the website you gave, and the info contained therein, you are involved in anything but a Christian thing. It would be better described as sun worship.
When I see my Father I will not be judged by my deeds for whether I have eternal life with Him, that has already been determined by the cross of Jesus.
Those who have refused the gift of the cross of Jesus will be judged by their deeds, and then cast into the lake of fire. Our deeds of righteousness are as “filthy rags” before God (Isaiah 64:6).
I pray you will open your eyes to the Son of God who died for our sins, was buried – carrying our sins away, and rose bodily from the grave and forever lives; and will return one day soon.
    Thanks for your comment.

When I will come to the face of Father, I will not say how much I talked about satan/devil, but how much I MADE FOR PEOPLE.
Jeses said: “According with your DEALS”, not with words.

  6. Believer,
Thank you for your questions and comments. I guess that couple believed that any healing they experienced would have been from God; and I would admit, Yes!, any true healing is from God. He doesn’t just give the feeling of healing, or a temporary healing but it is real healing. They thought these people they had “looked into” were servants of God.
I think they were Christians. They had a testimony of the followers of Jesus Christ. It seemed that they had just not been taught about this sort of thing and were deceived.
I really believe that these are the best days for Christianity. The true believer of Jesus Christ has an enormous amount of opportunities for witness, living the faith, and expounding the Word of God to the people of the USA, and the world.
Jesus is still alive and doing well, and He said, “Upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail againt it.” That is still true.

  7. Thank you for your fine article. I am curious as to why that couple you included in your post was unsatisfied with your answer that Satan can make it appear as if he can heal. What do you think they were looking for? Obviously, they weren’t Christian (or perhaps they were, but ignorant in Christian principles) if they sought the advice of “medical spiritists” (whatever that is). Too many people move away from what has worked for 2000 years and are curious to learn the ways of other belief systems…the occult, witchcraft, etc. I’m wondering if you think that Christianity is on its decline and, if so, why?
