Then said He also to him that bade Him,
“When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: and thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.” Luke 14:12-14Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy. Psalm 99:9
What Jesus is telling us in Luke 14 of course, should be obvious to us who are born again. Being a blessing to the neighbor in need does not chalk up points for salvation; it is a fruit of our salvation, our justification and forgiveness we have received.
In feeding those or aiding them in some other way we are in fact worshiping, exalting the LORD our God, and He is glorified.
Let us, the Redeemed of the Lord, say so by our words and works.
